There was a time…
There was a time when I was blind and it was not by my design
My eyes are now uncovered and my vision cannot be smothered
There was a time when I did not understand my Nation
Nor the true purpose of my creation, abused, confused, misused and bruised
What a wonder it is to rediscover our God and come together to support our Tribes
Providing love, concern, steadfastness and good vibes
There was a time when I was pressed down but that iron was not allowed to destroy me
It only made me stronger and more determined to be free, truly free can you see?
There was a time when I was scared to chase my dreams or so it seemed
Not anymore its time to soar that is what we were created for
