Morning Inspiration: A Recovering Heart

One of my biggest triggers that kept me dependent on substances was the inability to control negative emotions. I was unaware that feelings are fleeting, and they come and go. A moment of negativity is no cause for doubt or despair. It is what it is, a moment of negativity. For whatever reason sometimes we just feel a hint of fear, sadness, loneliness, anger, or resentment. That is why I have always loved that saying, “this too shall pass”, because it really does. I am the master over my emotions. They may rush in negative, however I control the intensity and how long I will allow that feeling to linger, and today they are kicked as fast as they rush in. This is why recovery is so beautiful, a recovering heart can overcome just about anything.
